WHAT?
Alumni Service Corps is a group of volunteers giving a year of post-college service in gratitude for their Jesuit education. Volunteers are mentors and teachers that adopt a simple lifestyle in community and strive to grow spiritually.
Unique Opportunities:
- Academic Success Center: tutoring
- Activities: clubs, mentoring
- Admissions: admission events, communication
- Alumni: events, communications
- Athletics: event set-up and planning, supervision
- Campus Ministry: retreats, liturgies
- Faith & Justice: special projects, food drive, lead grade-level programming
- Classroom: teaching Freshman Seminar, proctoring prep period, or subbing
- Marketing and Communications
- Student Life: chaperoning dances, lead programming
WHO?
- College graduate, with degree from Jesuit secondary school or college/university
- Preferably candidates will have just earned their undergraduate degree prior to the start of service
- Candidates must be single and younger than 27
WHY?
- Give back through service to a Jesuit Institution
- Gain valuable professional development
- Discern before starting graduate work
WHEN?
- Applications open soon--stay tuned!
- Application review begins early January
- Service begins mid August and continues through mid June
- Orientation retreat will take place in mid August
WHERE? HOW?
Volunteers will reside in the Manresa community house, adjacent to Gonzaga Prep’s Campus from early August to the end of June with the following provisions:
- Highly competitive monthly stipend
- Furniture
- Utilities and internet access
- Kitchen appliances
- Food is purchased by volunteers from monthly stipend
- No car provided, however, volunteers may bring their own
