POSITION SUMMARY
The Major Gift Officer (MGO) at Gonzaga Preparatory School is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporations to support the school's fundraising goals and initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Development, the MGO will develop and execute personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for each prospect and donor in the portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
● Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of approximately 150-200 major gift prospects, including alumni, parents, parents of graduates, and other members of the Gonzaga community.
● Cultivation and Solicitation: Develop and implement personalized strategies for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts ranging from $25,000 to $250,000 to support annual, endowment, capital, and programmatic needs, in support of Gonzaga Prep’s strategic plan.
● Prospect Identification: Identify and qualify new prospects through research, networking, and collaboration with colleagues, utilizing the school's Raiser's Edge donor database to track interactions and document progress.
● Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, board members, volunteers, and the Advancement team to align major gift strategies with fundraising goals and priorities.
● Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders, effectively communicating Gonzaga Preparatory School's mission.
● Event Participation: Represent Gonzaga Preparatory School at events, meetings, and conferences to promote awareness and build relationships within the philanthropic community.
● Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed strategy and cultivation plans, submit contact reports, and maintain records in the Advancement fundraising platform. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in major gift fundraising.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
● Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
● Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in major gifts fundraising or a closely related field. Proven track record of successfully soliciting major gifts.
● Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire donors and stakeholders. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
● Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in donor management software (preferably Raiser's Edge), Excel, and Google Workspace.
● Alignment: Strong alignment and commitment to the mission and values of Gonzaga Preparatory School.

Physical requirements:
Must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to operate general office equipment. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds). Acceptable eyesight and hearing (with or without correction). Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Reasonable accommodations will be made for otherwise qualified individuals with a disability.
Environmental Conditions: Works both indoors in an office setting and the occasional outdoor conditions.
