Molly McFarland `94

Year started at Prep: 2019

Other roles: ASB Moderator

"I’m HOME," says Social Studies teacher Molly McFarland! The ‘94 Gonzaga Prep alumna who has been living and working in Seattle for the last 15 years came home to Prep this fall and teaches in the Social Studies department.

McFarland began her teaching career working in Catholic schools on the West Side. Her work at Bishop Blanchet, St. John School, and Seattle Prep spanned everything from world history, AP U.S. History, Christian Philosophy, and Latin, to summer camps.

Here at Prep, she teaches U.S. history and church history from a classroom with a sweeping view of Bullpup Stadium. She hopes to teach her students the skills necessary to be successful in school and life and to encourage their curiosity and critical thinking.

She was home in Spokane this summer and got a glimpse of the changes on campus during Reunion Weekend. And in a case of literally returning to her roots the 1994 ASB vice president is now ASB moderator.

When she’s not in the classroom, she enjoys traveling, reading, dining out, and attending concerts.
