Drive-by, drop-off Food Drive

As the pandemic continues and with it the economic hardships, the Gonzaga Prep community continues to walk with those in need. On May 18, faculty and staff held "round two" of our drive-by drop-off food drives. Dozens of bags of groceries and hygiene products were collected and later delivered to families on the community as well as the St. Thomas More food bank and the American Indian Community Center.

On the afternoon of April 17, the Gonzaga Prep community did what it does so well: More than three dozen faculty and staff (masked and safely distanced) received and distributed food donations from dozens upon dozens of drive-up students, family, and friends of Prep.

As people drove up to the curb, it was evident students and their parents were excited to see faculty and staff -- who lined the curb wearing masks and gloves -- and holding large signs expressing love, welcome and prayers.  It was difficult to keep the students in their cars when they saw their teachers, coaches, and office staff.

"The mutual care and concern expressed between our students, faculty and staff was heart-warming and inspiring. Without a doubt, the Gonzaga Prep community manifested love in deeds rather than in words," said Principal Cindy Reopelle.

The outpouring of support was overwhelming and uplifting as the food was delivered to families in our community in greatest need. Donations went to Prep families, Catholic Charities of Eastern Washington, the American Indian Center and The Salish School.  Thank you to the entire Bullpup community for demonstrating what it means to be persons for others. It was SO good to see you all!
