Season One sports finish strong

FOOTBALL

Football

Bullpup football dominated the GSL going 5-0 in a short season with wins by as much as 48 points. They finished the season as East Region champs.  Junior quarterback Ryan McKenna ran opponents ragged in an offense punctuated with catches by wide-receiver/kicker Evan Duchesne. Jaden Ortega and Robert Collier Jr. led the rushing attack. The stingy Prep defense was led by juniors Ephraim Watkins and Kaz Melzer, and senior Daniel McKeirnan. 


All-League honors:

OFFENSE: MVP Ryan McKenna, 1st Team: Jaden Ortega, James Franz, Liam Arnold, 2nd Team: Rob Collier Jr, Evan Duchesne.

DEFENSE: 1st Team: Ephraim Watkins, Daniel McKeirnan. 2nd Team: Andrew Chan, Brendan Kelly. HM: Luciano Reynolds, Greg Flynn.

GIRLS SOCCER

Girls Soccer

Bullpup girls soccer finished their season strong atop the GSL for a second year in a row. The 8-2 pups defeated Central Valley with a 3-2 OT win for the East Region title. Seniors Lydia Myers and Alaina O’Connell both signed letters of intent to play college soccer in the fall.

VOLLEYBALL

Volleyball

Bullpup volleyball racked up a 9-2 record before falling to Mt. Spokane in the league finale in mid-March. Clemson-bound senior middle Jacyn Bamis led the team in kills with 109 followed by junior right side hitter Bailey Benson with 101. Sophomore setter Kate Palelek had 273 assists and 25 Aces in the short season, while Freshman outside hitter Lilli Etter led the team in digs with 170.

CROSS COUNTRY

GPXC

In the GSL varsity championships, senior Jake McIntyre finished 3rd in a field of 60 with a personal best in the 5K of 16:01. Junior Caleb Richardson finished 11th in the race. Lone senior Claire Eckhardt finished 13th in a field of 60 with a PR of her own of 20:23.
