Matthew Braatz

English teacher/ASC
Time at Prep: New this fall

Matthew Braatz joins the Gonzaga Prep faculty as part of a unique partnership with Gonzaga Family Haven. He teaches English during the school day at Prep, and after school he heads to GFH, where he works as an Academic Success Coordinator. In that role, he helps create after-school academic and mentoring programs for all 75 families.

Before coming to Gonzaga Prep and GFH, Matt earned a degree from Gonzaga University in English and his teaching credential. He brings with him the foundations of an Ignatian educator: “I hope to make an impact on more than just the academic lives of the students at Prep. I look to assume a role that creates student leaders for and with others.”

Matt hopes to build the confidence of his students through modeling a high-proficiency of reading and writing.
