Henry Burgis, a Gonzaga Prep sophomore from Cheney recently served as a page in the Washington State House of Representatives. He was sponsored by Rep. Mary Dye, R-Pomeroy.
Burgis spent a week at the state Capitol, assisting with various duties, including serving on the chamber floor, making deliveries throughout the Capitol campus, supporting member offices and attending Page School. The legislative page program has been active since 1889, with students between the ages of 14 and 17 from across Washington coming to Olympia to help during legislative sessions. Pages also receive a daily stipend of $65.
In his spare time, Burgis enjoys gaming, climbing, and tennis. He is the son of Nick and Robin Burgis, Cheney.
