The University of Notre Dame's Harper Cancer Research Institute is excited to introduce the Ella McKeirnan Memorial Fellowship, which will provide two Gonzaga Prep students with an 8-week immersive cancer research experience from June 10 to August 1, 2024. "As a former teacher of Ella, I am deeply moved by her enduring legacy of excellence, compassion, and resilience," said Pat Segadelli, assistant principal of academics. "The establishment of this fellowship serves as a testament to the remarkable impact she had on our community."
The program, part of the Research Cures Cancer Corps (RC3), aims to cultivate the next generation of cancer researchers. Highlights include roundtrip travel, room and board, a $4800 stipend, and weekend cultural excursions. Open to rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors, the application deadline is March 31, 2024.
