Ka-Chow! Bullpup spirit hits on all cylinders

We are proud of all of the work that is put into this week, because it is such a huge foundation to Gonzaga preps spirit and pride. Now, we have a few things to say to each of you.

Freshmen: There once was a day when I dreamed of being a senior, freshman year had just begun and I was already over it. I wanted to graduate. To skip this chapter of my life. Yet for someone who wanted time to fly by so badly I find myself willing to give anything to go back. So, soak up every minute of high school and especially these last few months of your year. You have already contributed so much to Gonzaga prep and we have no doubt that as you grow older and wiser you will lead this school in a promising direction. And as you help welcome the incoming freshman, we know that you will treat them with the unwavering kindness that lives in all of you.

Sophomores: Between where you are now, and where you will be in a year, so much growth will be done. There will be hardships, and nobody prepares you for what you have to go through in life, but it’s up to you to understand it, and put a meaning to it. Happiness isn’t found in doing what others do, or what others want you to do. It’s found in listening to your heart, discovering, and embracing yourself and who you are becoming. Your happiness should never be in the hands of others, and as we each move up in life, I hope that we can all try our best to find happiness within ourselves, and appreciate the little moments that bring about joy.

Juniors: I couldn’t think of a better group of people to be leaders of the school next year. Embrace every opportunity that comes your way, for it will add richness to your year. Fortune favors the bold, so we encourage you all to be bold. Be courageous. Be yourself. You only get one senior year, so live it like you’ve always wanted to. Go to the games, engage in clubs, let loose at Knight Flight, and above all: be kind. As seniors, if there's one thing we wish to impart upon you, it's this: strive to surpass our achievements. Progress is fueled by action and dedication, so juniors make each day count. Let every day be an improvement upon the last.

Seniors: We cannot even express how grateful we are for these truly memorable, loving, exhilarating, and transformative past four years. I’ve always loved the last day of school because even though it was a goodbye, we always saw each other again. Same place. Same time. Same people. But this year is different, and I find myself no longer wanting the last day of school to come. Because now we find ourselves counting the “lasts” of every event, every dance, every game, every day. The beginning of a new chapter is in sight, and high school has gone in a blink of an eye. Every moment that has brought pure joy, moments of success, moments of friendships, moments of strength, and many more are what have shaped our highschool experience, and have shaped who we are today. Behind you, all your memories, before you, all your dreams, around you all who love you, within you all you need. I cannot wait to see all that each and every one of you accomplish, and although life seems to move pretty fast, always remember to slow down, live in the moment, Vienna will wait for you
