FEBRUARY 18

Last week, the boys and girls basketball teams opened up their respective district playoff runs.

The boys won both games. In their opening-round matchup with Hanford, the team won 72-37, led by Jackson Mott's 17 points and 11 rebounds. Vince Moore added another 11 points, including 4 for 4 shooting from the free-throw line. Then, on Saturday vs. Chiawana, the team won 68-51 advancing to the District 6 Championship game. Carter Nielson led the way with 17 points and Brogan Howell scored 15. The Pups host Richland this Thursday in a "winner-to-state" game.

The girls team played Richland in their opening round of districts, coming away with a 55-46 win. Olivia McIntyre had 20 points in the dub. Against No. 1 seed Chiawana on Saturday, the team lost 65-78. Laura Thompson played amazing defense all game and finished with 25 points. The Lady Pups host Ferris tonight at 6 in a survive and advance game. Please come out and support them!

FEBRUARY 10

Last week, the boys basketball team won the GSL title and secured the No. 1 overall seed in Districts. In their first game against Shadle, they won 66-34. Jackson Mott had 15 points and 5 rebounds, while Jack Pierce had 10 points and 2 steals. Then, in Friday's 62-45 victory over Ferris, senior Brogan Howell led the way with 16 points. The team will host Hanford in its first playoff game on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The girls basketball team also earned two wins last week. At Shadle, the team won 81-23 and shot 67% from the field. Laura Thompson and Quinn Pederson scored 14 points each, with senior Bella Scribner adding another 10. Versus Ferris on Friday, senior Olivia McIntyre dominated with 23 points and 10 rebounds. They went on to win that one, 63-28. On Thursday, the team will play in the first round of Districts at home versus Richland. Tip is at 5 p.m.

Over the weekend, The Bowl Pups had their league match at North Bowl. Team 1 holds a 7-point lead in Division 1  and Team 2 a 9-point lead in Division 2. Matthew Olarte had a season-high of 247 and a new 3-game series high of 647. Emma Keller rolled a 137, Libby Frazier a 141, and Madeline Adams a 156, all had season personal bests. Their next match is on March 2 at Valley Bowl.

The Debate team competed at the Foley Forensics Tournament and placed 3rd out of 16 teams, officially securing the GSL title. 1st place winners included Beth Loroz in Informative, Rachel Price in Spoken Word, and Aaron Lee in Editorial Commentary. Ari Everitt and Grant Von Buchwaldt were 2nd in Public Forum Debate. 3rd place finishers were Ari in Original Oratory, Rachel and Izzi Hydzik in Duo, Lowen Kahn in Humorous, and Connor Crinion in Sales.

Also competing last weekend was the wrestling team, who traveled to Pasco for the 4A District tournament. There, Israel Acosta (144 lbs.)and senior Noah Holman (165 lbs.) were district winners. In addition, Stephen Dougherty (120 lbs.), Sam Kincaid (150 lbs.), Wren Jackson (165 lbs.), and Harrison Crooks (175 lbs.) all qualified for the Mat Classic Feb. 20-22 in Tacoma by placing in the top 5 at Districts.

In gymnastics news, our very own Bella Cameron was 4th Place All-Around at Shadle Park last week, where she tied for 3rd on vault, took 6th on bars, 6th on beam, and 6th on floor. She had three PR scores on bars, floor, and all-around. Her next meet is Regionals on February 11 at 4 p.m. to qualify for the Washington State Championships. 

FEBRUARY 3

Last Saturday Gonzaga Prep orchestra and band students competed at the Spokane Falls Regional Solo & Ensemble Competition at Rogers High School. Bullpups were up against students from Spokane Public Schools and Mead Schools. We had 7 soloist entries and 3 group entries between Orchestra and Band students. All performed well, but there are three who deserve special recognition: Sophomore Samuel Miller placed 1st for his division as a violin soloist, which qualifies him to perform at the State Solo and Ensemble Competition in March at Central Washington University. Sophomore Cayla Hoke placed as 2nd alternate in the alto saxophone division, accompanied on piano by junior Mary Cornwell. If the 1st place and 1st alternate recipients cannot compete at State, she will have the opportunity to perform at CWU as well. 

Last Thursday, the wrestling team hosted Cheney. Sam Kincaid, Noah Holman, and Will Jackson secured wins in each of the first three matches. Then, on Friday, the team wrestled at Shadle Park. Against the Highlanders, both Harrison Crooks and Tyson Weichman pinned their opponents. But Sam and Noah won the final two matches to provide the winning margin for a final score of 40-32. This weekend, the team travels to Tri-Cities to compete in Regionals.

In girls basketball news, the team won both of its games last week.  Against Cheney: Kara Wilson had 10 points and Sharissa Byrd had 11. On Friday versus Lewis & Clark, Laura Thomposon had 14 points with 4 assists and Quinn Pederson had 10 points with 3 steals.

The boys team went 2-0 last week as well. In their 68-50 win over Cheney, Carter Nilson and Hudson Floyd had 15 points, while Jackson Mott added 14. Then, in a dominating win over LC (final score of 84-33), Brogan Howell led the way with 13 points and Hudson with 6 steals.

The basketball teams wrap up regular season play this week with games at Shadle Park tomorrow and at home for Senior Night vs. Ferris.

JANUARY 13

Last week, the wrestling team notched two home dual wins. First, over Lewis and Clark 47-29, then over Ridgeline 39-38. Against Ridgeline, Logan Bright, Will Jackson, Sam Kincaid, and Harrison Crooks secured pins. This Wednesday, the team will take on Central Valley.

The boys and girls basketball teams also went 2-0 this week, beating Ferris and University. Against Ferris, the boys won 56-52  behind 15 points from Carter Nilson and Brogan Howell. Against University, they won 82-69 on Hudson Floyd's 26 points and 8 assists. On the girls side, the team handled Ferris 68-50. Laura Thompson had a huge game, with a stat line of 28 points, 11 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 assists. Against University, Quinn Peterson had 21 points and Belle Hernandez added 18 to secure the win, 68-61. Both teams play at Ridgeline on Tuesday.

Over the weekend, the debate team competed at the Conway Classic—hosted by Gonzaga University—and placed 1st overall out of 28 schools. First-place winners included: Grant Von Buchwaldt and Ari Everitt in Varsity Public Forum, Parker Ebel in Varsity Congress, Antonio Trivino in JV Congress, Simon Yan in Extemporaneous, Lowen Kahn in Humorous, and Connor Crinion in Informative. Second-place finishers included Ari in Original Oratory and PF Speaker Points, Parker in Editorial Commentary, and Jaxon Grabicki in JV Congress. Third-place finishers included: Beth Loroz in Varsity Congress, Izzi Hydzik and Rachel Price in Duo, Annabelle Mischke in Impromptu, Aaron Lee in Spoken Word, and Graham Carnagey in JV Congress. In two weeks, the team will participate in a tournament at Ferris.

DECEMBER 31

Boys basketball in Hawaii

Bullpup boys basketball played four games in five days, bringing home 3rd place at the Punahou Invitational in Honolulu, Hawai'i. The Bullpups (8-2) opened with a 70-58 win over Woodside (CA), led by Brogan Howell’s 21 points. They followed with a dominant 62-22 quarterfinal victory over Kamehameha (HI), with Howell scoring 17 and Hudson Floyd adding 15. In the semifinals, G-Prep fell in overtime to host Punahou 63-61, despite 18 points from Floyd and 17 from Ryan Carney. The Bullpups rebounded in the third-place game, defeating Casa Roble (CA) 55-38 behind 12 points each from Jack Pierce and Howell.

The Lady Bullpups traveled to Seattle during break, finishing 2-1 at the Seattle Prep Classic. In the opening game, the Bullpups (5-2) fell to host Seattle Prep 54-46, despite 14 points from Laura Thompson and 10 from Kara Wilson. They bounced back the next game with a dominant 65-38 win over Bellarmine Prep (9-1), led by 15 points from Thompson and 13 from Wilson. The Pups closed out the tournament with a commanding 64-34 win over Arlington, fueled by 13 points from Olivia McIntyre, 11 off the bench from Sharissa Byrd, and 10 from Quinn Pederson. The team was hot from behind the arc, hitting 11 three-pointers in the game.

Both teams fundraised to travel to the Christmas break tournaments.

DECEMBER 16

Last week, Knowledge Bowl competed at Lewis and Clark for their 3rd meet. Currently, our Varsity 1 and Varsity 2 teams are 4th and 5th, respectively, and our JV1 team is in 1st place. All teams will compete next month at East Valley and they will get ready for regionals in February. Varsity 1 team has high hopes of qualifying for State in Wenatchee. 

Over the weekend, the debate team competed at Shadle Park. Rachel Price placed 1st in Varsity Spoken Word, and Aaron Lee placed 3rd. Lowen Kahn earned 3rd in Humorous. Grant Von Buchwaldt, Johnny Doree, and Ari Everitt were semifinalists in Public Forum. They debate at Gonzaga University next, after Christmas break.

The Robotics team also moved up six spots in their league standings, after a great showing in the Tri Cities.

On Tuesday, the girls basketball team fell to University, 44-46. Quinn Peterson had 11 points and 9 rebounds. Laura Thompson had 10 points and 2 blocks. Later that night, the boys team won 62-49. Jackson Mott led the way with 22 points and 12 rebounds. On Friday, the boys played at Post Falls. Despite a 45-51 loss, several Bullpups stood out: Brogan Howell had 15 points and 2 steals, while Hudson Floyd added 15 points on 3 assists. Both teams play at Mt. Spokane tomorrow.

DECEMBER 9

Last week, our basketball teams opened their seasons with two games apiece coming away with 4 wins! The boys beat North Central 58-49. Hudson Floyd scored 18 points and Brogan Howell added 17. Against West Valley (Yakima), Hudson had 19 and Brogan had 17, for a final score of 66-57. 
 
The girls kicked off their season in the Fitz tournament at Lewis & Clark. In their game vs. West Linn (OR), the Lady Pups won 60-55 on 15 points from Bella Hernandez. In the 50-48 win over Snohomish, Olivia McIntyre and Laura Thompson both scored 13 points. 
 
Tuesday, the boys and girls teams take on University at home.
 
Over the weekend, the debate team competed at Mt. Spokane High School. Simon Yan was 1st in extemporaneous speech, and Aaron Lee was 1st in spoken word. Elle Dahle and Jacob Berger finished 2nd in public forum, and Henry Ehrbar was 2nd in student congress. Joining him in congress, Parker Ebel finished 3rd and Lowen Kahn was 4th. Connor Crinion was 3rd in informative. The team debates at Shadle Park this Friday and Saturday.
 
The G-Prep Bowl Pups were also in action over the weekend at our home alley, Lilac Lanes. Cody Hough rolled a high game of 258, and Parker Ebel had a 269. Several players bowled new personal bests: Luke Hills's 172, Ivanna Seifert's 119, and Nora Joyce's 128.  G-Prep Team 1 is in 2nd place in Division 1, and Team 2 and Team 3 are in first and second place in Division 2.
 
Lastly, congratulations to David Thorp, who placed 2nd in the varsity History Bee this past weekend at Mount Spokane. David is now qualified for the National History Bee in Washington, DC, in April. The team also made it into the semifinals and will be back next month at East Valley.

NOVEMBER 25

On Friday, Bullpup football beat Kennedy Catholic on the road 34-28, a first-ever playoff win west of the Cascades outside of a state championship game. Will Jackson and Luke Hills made a huge 4th down stop late in the second quarter to open the door for a Jonah Keller kickoff return for 91 yards in an ensuing possession. Jacobe McClelland added a punt block and 41 yard scoop-and-score touchdown to give the Bullpups a 27-14 lead at the half. In the second half, Sam Kincaid rushed for a touchdown to seal the game. This Saturday, the Pups travel to Camas for a semifinal game at 1 p.m. Winner will play for the state title. 

NOVEMBER 18

On Saturday, our Bullpup football beat Emerald Ridge 31-0. In the game, Noah Holman rushed for 103 yards and had 2 touchdowns. Wide receiver Isaiah Docken had another touchdown on six catches for 80 yards from quarterback Sam Kincaid. On defense, Luke Hills had an interception. The team plays Kennedy Catholic at Highline Memorial Stadium in Seattle on Friday at 6 to advance to the State semi-finals.

At the Nike NXR 2024 in Boise, ID, junior Zach Frazier won his first cross country race ever, finishing the 5K Boys Open Section 1 in 15:42, ahead of 363 others. His time was 4th fastest of all sections combined in a field of 996. 

Over the weekend, the debate team placed 1st at the Welcome to the Jungle Tournament at Lewis and Clark. Rachel Price placed 1st in Spoken Word Poetry. In Public Forum debate, the Bullpups took the podium. Elle Dahl and Jacob Berger placed 1st, Ari Everitt and Grant Von Buchwaldt were 2nd, Berkley Hestdalen and Creighton Condon were 3rd!

Last week, the Knowledge Bowl team started their season at Ridgeline. The Varsity 1 team won all three of their matches and is tied for 1st place with West Valley, ahead of 23 other teams and defeating their rivals LC and Ridgeline.  Our Varsity 2 team is in 5th place.

NOVEMBER 4

Over the weekend, the girls cross country team placed first as a team at the District Championships in Walla Walla. Four runners finished in the top 10: Erin McMahon was 1st, Claire Gee was 2nd, Bella Buckner was 7th, and Makena Krauss was 8th. The boys team placed 4th overall, with Zach Frazier crossing the finish line with the 5th fastest time. Both teams will run at the State Championship at Sun Willows in Pasco on Saturday.

The girls soccer team also started their postseason run last week. They beat Hanford in game one, 3-0, behind two goals from Jenna Wanner and another from Hannah Boyum. Despite a 1-0 loss to Chiawana on Saturday, the girls will continue their quest for State tomorrow—at home—against Kamiakin.

The volleyball team will also enter District playoffs Tuesday with a home game versus Hanford. Last week, they beat University in three straight sets. 

Finally, the football team wrapped up GSL play with a dominating win over University, 53-8. The defense held the Titans to 57 yards total, with interceptions by Jackson Pierce and Wren Jackson. James Wolter was 7 for 7 on PATs and  both Aiden Patterson and Nikko Alexander contributed rushing touchdowns of their own. They host Woodinville on Saturday.

OCTOBER 28

Last week, Bullpup football secured the GSL title with a win over Mead 28-21. In the game, Noah Holman rushed for 144 yards and 3 touchdowns, while Jonah Keller added a fourth on an 80-yard kickoff return. On defense, Luke Hills had a clutch interception to start the 3rd quarter. Up next is University this Friday for senior night. 

In cross country news, the girls took home a first-place GSL trophy as well—the first since 1999. Erin McMahon won their race with the only time under 19 minutes. The boys took second in their final GSL meet, behind a 2nd and 3rd place finish from Zach Frazier and Noah Martinett.

The third Bullpup team crowned league champion last week was girls soccer. Powered by seniors, they beat Cheney 3-0. Jennah Wanner scored 2 goals—the first was assisted by Molly Gross—and Ava Felice had the third. They will host Hanford tonight at 7 p.m. for the first round of District Playoffs.

On their senior night, the volleyball team picked up a big win over Mead in 3 straight sets. Seniors Olivia Ohman and Mackenzie Ray led the game with 8 and 7 kills, while Emma Sandberg picked up 22 digs. They play at UHigh today for their last regular season match.

OCTOBER 21

Bullup football kept on rolling last week, beating Central Valley in a 23-21 thriller. On offense, Noah Holman had two touchdowns on 149 rushing yards. On defense, Jaeger Grimsby had an interception and Jacobe McClelland blocked a potential go-ahead field goal with one minute left in the game. The Pups play Mead at Union Stadium on Friday.

The volleyball team cruised, beating both Shadle and Central Valley in 3 straight sets. Against CV, Mara Sandberg tallied 7 aces and 8 kills. Defensively, Emma Sandberg led the way with 16 digs, and Molly Davidson had 14 serving points, also the most that night. They play at Lewis and Clark Tuesday and host Mead for their senior night on Thursday. 

Senior night comes Wednesday for girls soccer. The team faces Cheney at 6:30 in Bullpup Stadium. Last week, they beat Mead 1-0 when Pearl Garabedian scored the goal off of an assist by Jennah Wanner. Goalkeeper Amelia Pielli had 5 saves in the shutout.

Out at Central Valley, cross country girls team beat both Mt Spokane and CV. The JV girls had a clean sweep beating UHigh, Mt Spokane, and CV. For the boys, Zach Frazier placed 3rd overall in the varsity event and the JV runners took second place over U-High and CV. Let's come out to support the seniors tomorrow for their last GSL race at Finch Arboretum.

Finally, the High School Bowling League got off to a great start this weekend at Players and Spectators. Freshman Ivanna Seifert set a personal best of 143. Cody Hough rolled a 210, Tiernan Waggoner had a 209, and Matthew Olarte a 208. Parker Ebel started the season with a personal high game of 247 and followed that up with a second personal best of 255.  Parker ended the match with a league-high series of 897. 

OCTOBER 14

Our slowpitch team started their run in district playoffs at Ferris. Abrihet Epps hit .625 over four games. They play this Wednesday in a loser-out game.

On Friday, the football team shut out Shadle Park, 28-0. Quarterback Sam Kincaid passed for 163 yards and 2 touchdowns—both to Isaiah Docken—and ran for 87 yards. The defense, led by Wren and Will Jackson, held the Highlanders to just 78 yards on the ground and 60 yards in the air. They play at Central Valley this week.

The girls volleyball team played Ridgeline in GSL play. Molly Davidson had an ace and 11 digs, Karolina Flanagan had 11 kills, and Noella Migliuri had 34 assists in the match. Then, they traveled to Bakersfield, California over the weekend to play games versus top schools in the area: Liberty and Centennial High. They take on Shadle next on Tuesday.

Despite a loss to Ridgeline earlier in the week, the girls soccer team got back on track with a huge win against LC in overtime. Goalkeeper Amelia Pielli held the Tigers to just three goals during shootouts. The team hosts Mead this Wednesday.

Over the weekend, our boys cross country team traveled to Lakewood, Washington for the Nike Hole in the Wall Invitational. They finished 10th overall, out of 44 teams. Zach Frazier finished 3rd and Noah Martinet was 23rd. There were over 300 runners in their race. The boys and girls teams will run at CV this Wednesday.

OCTOBER 7

Last week, Bullpup girls soccer went 2-0 in some big GSL matchups. Versus Ferris, the Pups won 4-0, and Jennah Wanner scored two of the goals. Against Mt. Spokane it took a shootout win made possible by Pearl Garabedian late in regulation. The team plays at Ridgeline tonight and hosts Lewis & Clark on Wednesday.

The volleyball team followed suit with their own huge wins at home. To start the week, they sweot Ferris in 3 straight sets. Olivia Ohman had 9 kills and an ace, and Emma Sandberg celebrated 1,000 career digs with another 19. Against Lewis & Clark, they won 3-1 behind 26 assists from Noella Migliuri and 15 service points from Molly Davidson. The team plays at Ridgeline on Tuesday.

The girls cross country team continued their dominance Wednesday in their second GSL meet. Once again, they swept the competition, beating rival Lewis and Clark, Central Valley, and Ridgeline. Erin McMahon, Claire Gee, and Bella Buckner finished 1-2-3. The win puts the Bullpup girls in first place in the GSL. The boys team followed suit with four runners in the top 15: Zach Frazier—who placed second overall—Noah Martinet, Marshall Leow, and Ian Kleiderer. They also raced Saturday in the Battle for the 509 at the Polo Grounds where Frazier finished 13th in a field of 181, and Bella Buckner placed 26th.

Girls slowpitch was carried by Gracie Rhyne last week, who hit .571 in games vs. Rodgers and Shadle. They host Ferris after school Monday.

Finally, the football team beat Lewis and Clark on their homecoming night, 34-14. They play Shadle at home on Friday.

 

SEPT 30

Last Friday, Bullpup football beat Cheney 42-21. Jaeger Grimsby got things started in the first quarter with an 80-yard kickoff return, and quarterback Sam Kincaid finished it with three touchdown passes---two of them to Isaiah Docken, who had 90 yards receiving on the night. Defensively, both Jacobe McClelland and Nehemiah Areta had interceptions. This week, at 8 p.m. on Friday, we play Lewis and Clark at ONE Spokane Stadium. 

The Volleyball team also beat Cheney last week, 3-0. On Tuesday, they host Ferris. On Thursday, they play LC at home.

At the Colfax Rodeo, Savannah Holbert placed second overall on the weekend. She competes at Grand Coulee for the final two rodeos of the Fall season.

The slowpitch team was led by Jazmine Ramirez last week, who hit .500 through three games. They play LC at home after school today.

In cross-country news, the girl's team swept their first GSL meet - beating Mead, CV, and Cheney in both Varsity and JV races. Erin McMahon took 1st, Claire Gee 2nd, and Bella Buckner 3rd. For the boys, Noah Martinet finished 11th, and Marshall Loew was 15th. Over the weekend, both teams traveled to Missoula for the Mountain West Invitational. The girls placed 4th overall out of 84 teams, and Zach Frazier placed 18th out of over 490 runners. This upcoming Wednesday, they will race at Ridgeline.

The girls soccer team beat U-Hi 3-1 last Monday. Kaylin McMahon scored two goals, and Jazzy Arrendondo had one. Then, they beat CV 4-1 later in the week. Jenna Wanner scored three goals and Ava Felice assisted on two of them. They take on Ferris today.

SEPT 23

Last week, girls soccer beat both Kamiakin and Ridgeline 3-2. Against Ridgeline, Jenna Wanner netted two goals, and Natalie Wright added a third. Then, the team traveled to Bellarmine Prep over the weekend and tied, 1-1. Our defense held them to one total shot, and Sarah Gunn scored the goal on a corner kick. The Pups play U-Hi Monday night at home at 6:30.

Varsity volleyball had an incredible week, sweeping BOTH Mead and Mt. Spokane. Against Mt. Spokane, Mara Sandberg had 12 kills, Gracie Chilimidos had 4 aces, and Noella Migliuri had 10 digs. The team then traveled to Kent, WA to play in the Conk Invite where they beat 3 top-10 teams to capture the tourney championship! The team plays at Cheney on Tuesday night.

Our top-ranked state rodeo competitor, Savannah Holbert continued her strong start to the season in Walla Walla by placing first overall on Saturday and third on Sunday. She took first in the combined average buckle and will travel to Colfax next weekend.

On Friday, Bullpup football face Mt. Spokane on the road, pulling away in the fourth quarter to win 27-19. Sam Kincaid threw for 162 yards and a touchdown. Noah Holman added two rushing scores. They play Cheney at home on Friday.

The slowpitch team also walked away with a big win, beating North Central 22-2. Gracie Ryhne hit .714 for the week. They play at CV today and host Deer Park tomorrow.

Finally, our boys and girls cross country teams competed in Tillamook, OR over the weekend. There, the boys finished 3rd overall with Zach Frazier taking second. Noah Martinet placed 25th out of 190 runners. The girls took 1st place in their meet. Erin McMahon crossed the finish line first, with Claire Gee close behind in fourth, and Bella Buckner in sixth. Every girl who ran PR'd. Both teams take on Mead this Wednesday.

SEPT 16

Last week, Gonzaga Prep was busy with home-openers in every sport. The slowpitch team got things started with games against Shadle, Ferris, and U-Hi. Despite losses, our team had strong performances from several players. Especially Sofia Gum, who hit for a combined .750 average in those three games. We play East Valley today after school. 
 
The girls soccer team had a 4-game week, with match-ups versus Mt. Spokane, Mead, West Valley, and Kamaikin. Against Mead, the team won 2-1 behind two goals from Jennah Wanner. Then, in their 3-2 win over Kamaikin, Pearl Garabedian, Alex Guinn, and Ava Felice scored. Next, they take on Ridgeline at home on Wednesday.
 
The volleyball team had a great start to their season with a 3-0 win over Central Valley and a 3-1 win against Xavier Prep, from Palm Desert (CA). Versus CV, Mara Sandberg had 13 kills and 8 digs. Versus Xavier Prep, Olivia Ohman had 2 Aces and 12 kills. Emma Sandberg added 21 digs. They play next at Mead Tuesday evening.
 
On Friday, the football team took on Ferris and won by a score of 70-6. Jacobe McClelland recovered a fumble and ran it back for a 66-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Sam Kincaid was 4-4, with three touchdown passes and 92 yards on the night. Gavin Damon scored two touchdowns, with 1 in the air and another on the ground. Isaiah Docken scored two more on 80 yards receiving. The team takes on Mt. Spokane this Friday at Union Stadium.
 
Over the weekend, sophomore Savannah Holbert competed at the rodeo in Longview, WA. There, she won the average on both days. Savannah will travel to Walla Walla next weekend and is currently ranked 1st in the state for barrel racing.
 
Finally, our cross country teams ran at Shadle Park on Saturday. Beth Loroz was the first Bullpup runner across the line in the senior race. Paige Ehrbar and Audrey Hoff both ran times under 20 minutes in the freshman event. On the boys side, Simon Yan led the way in the senior race with a time under 15 minutes. In the junior event, Zach Frazier finished 2nd overall and teammate Nathaniel Kanyer was just behind him in 12th. Both teams travel to Tillamook, OR for an invitational this weekend.
 
SEPT 9

Over the weekend, our varsity girls cross country team got off to a great start, taking home second at the Farragut Invitational in Idaho. Erin McMahon finished 9th overall, Bella Buckner was 10th, and Claire Gee got 11th. In the JV race, the girls got 1st in the team event, led by Abby DeDenato who crossed the finish line in 4th place. The boys start their racing season this Saturday at Shadle Park.

On Friday, the football team, under new head coach Nate Graham, beat Ridgeline by a score of 48-21. Running back Noah Holman ran for 190 yards with three touchdowns. Jonah Keller added another three touchdowns, one in the air and two on the ground, while Jack Pierce secured a big interception on defense to keep the Falcons at bay. The football team will host Ferris next in Bullpup Stadium on Friday night.

This week, the rest of our fall sports teams will officially begin. The slowpitch team takes on Shadle Park today after school. And our girls soccer team plays Mt. Spokane tonight at 6:30. Tomorrow, volleyball hosts Central Valley and on Wednesday, they play Xavier Prep (Palm Desert, CA). Come out and support all our teams!
