CROSS COUNTRY
Girls
The girls’ cross-country team has been racing through the season with impressive speed and determination. They secured 2nd place at the Farragut Invite in early September and have been on a roll ever since. Powered by the dynamic trio of Erin McMahon, Bella Buckner, and Claire Gee, they made history by defeating long-time rival Lewis and Clark. Their momentum continued with a first-place finish at the Mook Invite in Tillamook, OR.

What’s been driving them: The team's hard work during the preseason is paying off, and they are embracing the mindset that they never run alone—whether physically, mentally, or spiritually.

Key moments: Two stand out. The first was hearing the announcement that the team had taken first place at the Mook Invitational, followed by the girls' joyful screams and hugs. The second came during a Friday practice off-campus, where the team sat down before the run and shared reflections on what defines them beyond running. Hearing the girls speak about their identity and vision as women was a powerful and inspiring moment.
Looking ahead: The team is dreaming big and aiming to be one of the two teams to make it to state this year. Their mantra? “Why not us!”

Boys
The boys’ cross-country team has also been making strides this season, with junior Zach Frazier leading the charge. The team placed 10th at the Nike Hole Wall Invitational in Lakewood, WA, with Frazier taking 3rd place and Noah Martinet finishing 23rd.

FOOTBALL
Under first-year head coach Nate Graham, the Bullpups football team has been dominant, boasting a 6-0 record so far. Junior quarterback Sam Kincaid commands a versatile offense, complemented by Noah Holman’s strong rushing game and receiver Isaiah Dokken. On defense, the team has held opponents in check, never allowing more than 21 points and shutting out Shadle Park on Oct. 11.

VOLLEYBALL
Despite the loss of standout seniors Lilli Etter and Maddie Finnigan, the 2024 volleyball squad hasn’t skipped a beat. Senior libero Emma Sandberg recently celebrated her 1,000th dig, while Olivia Ohman and Mara Sandberg lead the front-line offense. The team has been impressive, beating both Mead and Mt. Spokane in the same week and winning the Conk Invite in September.

What defines them: This team thrives on consistent, team-oriented play. They succeed by focusing on each other rather than individual performances.

Key moments:
The team scored two top-10 upsets en route to winning the Conk Invite in Kent, WA.

Looking ahead:
The goal is simple—leave no regrets. We are determined to perform at our highest level, and go out playing our best, regardless of the outcome.

GIRLS SOCCER
Bullpup girls soccer is on the hunt for another state appearance with an 8-3-1 record that includes victories over top-tier opponents like Mt. Spokane, Kamiakin, and Lewis and Clark. Jennah Wanner is leading the team in goals scored.

What defines them: Strong leadership has brought the team together, with seven returning seniors and an additional senior newcomer providing a cohesive unit. Having reached the final four last year, this group knows how to handle big-game pressure.

Key moments: In a stretch of games against the top three teams in the GSL—Mt. Spokane, Ridgeline, and Lewis and Clark—two shootout victories were sealed by key saves from keeper Amelia Pielle.

Looking ahead: After four straight years of reaching state, the team is eyeing another appearance. Once in the state tournament, it’s a new game, but the team’s experience gives them plenty of confidence.
